Are you still certain you want to enter Berghain, considering what goes on inside, including its infamous darkrooms?

by Techno TV - January 12, 2018

Berghain, a nightclub that has become a cornerstone of the Berlin techno scene, has achieved legendary status not only in Berlin but also globally within the techno and house music circles. The club is a revival of a previous Berlin nightlife spot, Ostgut (1998-2003), which was situated in the vacant Ostgüterbahnhof railway shipping warehouse.

Over the years, Berghain has been surrounded by numerous rumors and myths. While unverified sources suggest that the club's urinals are directly linked to the showerheads at Lab.oratory, located below, the truth remains uncertain. For most patrons, the allure of the upper floors is more captivating.

In 2005, Lab.oratory was reintroduced beneath Berghain. This fetish club, originally founded at Ostgut, was resurrected in a larger space with additional dark rooms, toys, and hidden corners. Here, an atmosphere of nudity, leather, and erotic fantasies prevails.

Today, the founders, Michael Teufele and Norbert Thormann, both in their fifties, prefer staying behind the scenes. They meticulously oversee all aspects of the club, including décor, sound, lighting, DJ lineups, and door policies. Rumor has it that Thormann's boundless imagination fuels the sexually charged and unconventional events hosted at the club.
