UK government provides £1.5 million support for independent clubs and promoters.

by Techno TV - May 15, 2019

Arts Council England has unveiled a significant boost for the country's independent live music venues, clubs, and promoters through The Supporting Grassroots Live Music fund, with a total allocation of £1.5 million. The fund aims to provide crucial support to the grassroots sector, offering financial aid ranging from £1,000 to £40,000 for successful applicants over a three-year period. The fund specifically targets venues and promoters engaged in nurturing emerging talent within the small to mid-size venue spectrum. Independent venues have been grappling with various challenges such as rising rents, licensing complications, and tight profit margins, which have posed significant threats to their sustainability. By focusing on these issues, Arts Council England hopes to fortify the resilience of these vital cultural hubs and foster a thriving and diverse music landscape across the nation.
