Listening to techno music reportedly has the potential to boost intelligence.

Ever dreamed of acing your physics final or mastering that last-minute interpretive dance routine you forgot to choreograph? Well, your dreams might just come true.

According to Professor Peter Dale from Manchester Metropolitan University, integrating techno music into the classroom could revolutionize education.

Imagine a music class where instead of classical tunes, your teacher plays Carl Cox's Ibiza Essential Mix. Instead of learning to play "Mary Had a Little Lamb" on a recorder, you're behind the decks, mastering the ancient art of crossfading.

Sounds appealing, doesn't it?

This is Dale's vision, one he believes will captivate young students. He proposes using "their music" to connect with them, making learning interactive:

"For many of these kids, techno is a part of their upbringing – their family and friends are into it too. Their parents were probably ravers during the 'acid house' era."

For this local enthusiast in 'Madchester', recognizing the city's history and the significance of artists like 808 State and A Guy Called Gerald is crucial. He believes acknowledging this heritage could transform the classroom experience.

By introducing turntables into the Teach First initiative in inner-Manchester schools, the professor has witnessed remarkable improvements in student performance, proving the potential of his approach.
